What the Film is About?

Fractured Families is an unflinching documentary that exposes the devastating reality of how Child Protective Services (CPS), Health and Welfare agencies, and Family Courts are tearing families apart — often without just cause. Through raw, deeply personal stories from courageous parents, expert testimony, and insider perspectives, the film reveals a system that has lost its way. We shine a bright light on four critical areas:

• Financial Corruption: How federal funding incentives and per-child reimbursements create a perverse motivation to remove children rather than support struggling families.

• Procedural Corruption: The routine use of false allegations, rushed “imminent danger” declarations, inadequate training, and biased court processes that stack the deck against parents.

• Constitutional Challenges: The frequent violations of fundamental parental rights — including warrantless seizures, civil protection orders weaponized in custody battles, and mental health evaluations ordered without due process.

• Solutions That Work: Practical, duplicable strategies that empower families to protect themselves and drive systemic change. The film shows families how to use proactive litigation — putting public officials and individuals on notice when their rights are being knowingly violated, and pursuing lawsuits in both official and personal capacities when appropriate. 

At the same time, we highlight proven legislative action, sharing ready-to-duplicate models from successful state-level reforms so communities across the country can introduce and pass stronger protections for parental rights.

Some of the worst damage happens not because the law is absent, but because vague language and broad discretion allow abuse of power to hide in the shadows. That’s why we must spell things out clearly in legislation — removing ambiguity and shining light where darkness has been allowed to grow.This film is not just about exposing pain.

It’s about raising awareness, building hope, and moving feet. 

To every parent who has suffered through this system, we say:

“We’re sorry for what has happened to you… but we are not sorry that you are doing something about it. Your pain is not in vain."

"Inviting CPS into your home without full understanding is like inviting a vampire in — even if you have garlic on the table. Once they’re inside, the damage can be devastating. But knowledge is power, and together we can close the door on abuse and reopen it to healing and reform. Fractured Families shows that change is possible. Real parents are fighting back. Brave legislators are stepping up. And a growing movement is demanding that families come first.

This is more than a documentary. 

It’s a call to awareness, a message of hope, and a roadmap for action.
